Apply to the University of Padova for 2024: A Guide for Prospective Students

The University of Padova, a prestigious institution ranked 4th in Italy, is now accepting applications for its English-taught degree programs for 2024.

Tuition fees are approximately €2,700, but can be significantly reduced based on income, potentially down to approximately €150 which is a regional tax that you have to pay.

List of Documents to apply at the University of Padova to study in the English language

Bachelor’s Degree Programmes: Open and Deadline is 7th March

  1. Curriculum Vitae (Résumé) in English.
  2. Motivational Letter(s) in English.
  3. Transcript of Records.
  4. Upper Secondary School Certificate (or provisional certificate if still studying).
  5. Certificate of 1-2 years of academic studies, Post-secondary qualification, or Foundation course certificate (if applicable).
  6. Certificate of Entrance Examination (if required in your country).
  7. Valid ID card (for EU or EU-equated applicants) or Passport.
  8. Italian Residence Permit (for non-EU applicants in Italy).
  9. English Language Certificate (if required).
  10. Additional documents as per specific program requirements.

Master’s Degree Programmes: Open and deadline is 2nd Feb

  1. Curriculum Vitae (Résumé) in English.
  2. Motivational Letter(s) in English.
  3. Transcript of Records.
  4. Academic Qualification (or provisional certificate if still studying).
  5. Valid ID card (for EU or EU-equated applicants) or Passport.
  6. Italian Residence Permit (for non-EU applicants in Italy).
  7. English Language or other Language Certifications (if required).
  8. Additional documents as per specific program requirements.

Note:

  • Legalized documents and translations are required after admission.
  • No Italian language certificate is needed for English-taught programs.
  • You can only apply for a Master’s degree if you have 3 or 4 years of Honors degree

How to Apply

  1. Gather your documents in PDF format.
  2. Then go to  apply.unipd.it and do the application.
  3. You will pay 3o euros application fees and with these fees, you can apply to 3 courses.

Regarding scholarships, the University of Padova provides several options for international students:

  1. Padua International Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to 53 highly talented prospective students wishing to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English in Padua.
  2. Fee-waivers: 100 full tuition fee-waivers are available to students enrolling in English-taught degree programs.
  3. Departmental scholarships: Offered by some departments to more than 30 international students.
  4. Veneto Regional Scholarship:

The Veneto Regional Scholarship, provided by the University of Padua, is designed to support low-income students, both Italian and international, who are enrolling in Bachelor’s, Single-cycle, Master’s degrees, and PhD courses.

       Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Low family income (ISEE below €26,306.25 and ISPE below €40,031.27).
  2. Admission to a degree or PhD course at the University of Padua.
  3. Compliance with Italian visa requirements.
  4. Not receiving other national or international scholarships or grants.
  5. Meeting merit criteria and other requirements specified in the scholarship call​.

     Application Process:

  • Apply online via the “Richiesta di agevolazioni – Application for benefits” on your personal Uniweb page.
  • The application period for 2023/24 was from July to October 2, 2023​.

     Scholarship Details:

  • The scholarship amount varies based on family income and other conditions.
  • It may include tuition fee exemptions, a subsistence allowance, and free or discounted student services like accommodation and meals.
  • For first-year students, the scholarship is paid in two installments: one by the end of December 2023 and another after obtaining 20 CFUs by August 10, 2024. Subsequent years receive a single installment by the end of December 2023.
  • The scholarship is granted for one academic year and must be renewed annually​.

     Required Documents:

  • “Equivalent Economic Status Index (ISEE)” which includes ISPE.
  • For international students enrolling in the first year for the first time in 2023/24, the ISEE/ISEE Parificato submission deadline is exceptionally extended to November 30, 2023
